We have been at D & J for about 6 years.  It was hard for my husband to convince me to put our trailer at one place.  I am SOOOO glad he convinced me.  We have been extremely happy at the campground.  It is very quiet, clean, family oriented, great neighbors and GREAT owners (which is necessary for a great campground).   If you want to do nothing, this is the place to be and if you want to do day trips or just take a drive, again, this is the place to be.  Looking for many many more relaxing years at D & J Shady Rest Campground.

This is our second year at D & J Shady Rest.  We love the camp

because it is quiet, clean and everyone is very friendly.  We love

the crab cake dinner.  Our only problem is that we wish

we could get there more often.

I have stayed at D&J Shady Rest in Kirkwood Pa. for two months, June and July, and would recommend any one planning to visit Washington, Baltimore, Philadelphia, the New Jersey shore or even NYC to check this location.

     There are also many historical, Revolutionary war and Civil war sites, covered bridges and Amish farm markets in the area.

     The owners, Ken and Linda, are very friendly and helpful and there are activities such as Saturday morning breakfasts and dinners occasionally.

     The campsite is very clean, quiet and real shady.....some mornings it is hard to tell the sun is up.  The sites have water, sewer and a very well regulated electrical service (the best voltage levels I have seen in 5 summers of travel).

     I checked several other camps before picking D&J.  Of 5 area camps only D&J answered my e-mail, the others I had to call.  Linda included all the information I needed in her e-mail and could handle my 40 ft. 5th wheel with 3 slide outs.

We have been at Shady Rest Campground for a few years now and we like the sounds of the  birds singing in the morning, the friendly hellos we get as we walk the campground, and watching the horse and buggies go by. We can go camping there to get away from the fast pace of the busy week to relax and enjoy some great camping. Linda and Ken (the owners) are great people and will be sure your every need is met  from showing you of were all the nearest attractions are to just making your camping experience a good one. The campground has activities Saturday evenings where campers can get together for a treat to eat, bingo, and my favorite is Christmas in July. Come camp with us you will come back.

We camped at D & J Campground for 16 years. A quiet family oriented campground where Campers get together for FUN, FROLIC and FRIENDSHIP. We left after 16yrs to have more time to travel. We still occasionally visit the campground where there is always a warm welcome back! Thanks Linda & Ken
